Sioux agents accounts, 1860-1861.

Accounts with the federal government listing the orders and services needed by the Sioux agents at Yellow Medicine Department in Minnesota prior to the Indian uprising in 1862. In 1819, Joseph R. Brown came to Fort Anthony, later knows as Fort Snelling, as an agent and trader. He was interested in the development of Minnesota's resources and developed "Joe Brown's steam wagon," and later the Nebraska City Machine. Newspaper clippings on the early history of Minnesota and the Brown are included.
